Tamale Cooking Instructions

Sal’s Famous Tamales

are a tradition in Mexican families and are native from Mexico dating back many centuries. Tamales are traditionally made for the holiday season but we do make Pork Tamales year round. Our tamales are freshly made with masa, fresh made mole, hand cooked pork. Our Tamales are then hand-spread, filled and rolled, and prepared for steaming. Let Sal’s Tamales be on your menu for your next occasion.
Please call the location of your choice to place your order…just don’t forget the Chips and Salsa!’

Tamales Instructions

Stove Top: In a large pot pour 2 to 3 inches of water, bring to a boil. Place tamales in a steam basket or metal colander. Place basket or colander in the pot (water should not touch the tamales). Cover and steam for 20 to 30 minutes.

Microwave: Cover bottom of microwave safe casserole dish with 1/4 inch of water. Place tamales in dish, cover with lid or plastic wrap. Microwave for approximately 10 minutes on high. Time will vary with oven and number of tamales heated.
